Mar Gregorios Syrian Orthodox Church, located in Staten Island, holds a unique and historic place in the Malankara Orthodox tradition — as the first Malankara parish established in North America and Canada. Founded in 1975, our church stands as a testament to the faith and vision of those early pioneers who planted the seeds of the Malankara Orthodox faith on this continent.

Our Story

Since our founding, our parish has grown tremendously, built on strong fellowship and unwavering faith. We are a living witness to God's presence — a sacred place for worship, prayer, and spiritual growth. Our community is enriched by many ministries serving all ages, including Sunday School, Youth League, Men's Prayer Fellowship, and Women's League, all rooted in the richness of our ancient Orthodox tradition.

WHAT WE DO

We gather every Sunday for Holy Qurbono, morning prayers, and Sunday School, nurturing our congregation through the liturgy and traditions of the Syrian Orthodox faith. Beyond worship, we serve our community through ministries for all ages — from children and youth to men's and women's fellowships — fostering growth in faith and fellowship.
